Mazama Designs is a small outdoor-products development company, committed to providing innovative, high-quality products that will enhance your enjoyment and performance.

We're a group of outdoor enthusiasts and athletes with a passion for improving the gear we use every day. Our testing grounds are just out the back door in the high desert country of Central Oregon, where there is no shortage of gear challenges.

"Our environment is an inspiration to me and a great resource for product testing," says Matt Hoskins, our company's founder and chief product developer. "When I’m out running on trails, I’m dodging rocks and ruts and watching for the occasional drop off. Any product that can pass muster here will work well on city streets, too."

It was Matt's search for the perfect hydration pack that inspired our Sidestream™ waistpack. "I had tried running with hydration backpacks, but they’re cumbersome and heavy, and they make your back sweat. Bottles are tough to drink from without slowing down. And with waist hydration packs, the dangling tube would get in the way."

Matt sought to design a comfortable, convenient product that all of us at Mazama could easily throw on for our lunchtime runs — a system that would allow us to drink on the move with minimal distraction and without disrupting our pace. After considerable trial and error, we believe we have devised the perfect solution: a waistpack with a drink tube that automatically retracts after each drink.
